How Soilux started
It started with a FOGO bin.
Soilux was founded by James Corea after his local council introduced a FOGO food organics and garden organics bin to his household.
Like many families, James had never really considered just how much food was being thrown away. Once the scraps were separated from the general waste, the amount became impossible to ignore.
He couldn't believe how much food waste his own family created each week, or how quickly it accumulated. It raised a simple question: surely there had to be a better way to deal with it at home?
That experience led James to set out to find and launch a practical solution designed for Australian households. Soilux was born from that idea.
Once we started separating our food waste, I couldn't believe how much of it our family was actually producing.
